Now, Domino’s to help Mumbai - during emergency hour

Today the Sheriff of Mumbai, Dr. (Mrs.) Indu Shahani launched the initiative to train employees of Domino’s Pizza India Ltd in First Aid & Basic Life Support in association with Dial 1298 for Ambulance. The initiative was launched at a function in H.R. College at 3.00 pm today.

Domino’s Pizza has taken this initiative to train all its employees in First Aid & Basic Life Support. The employees will undergo a three-hour training workshop conducted by a qualified trainer from Dial 1298 For Ambulance, thus equipping them with the first knowledge on saving lives.

The First Aid & Basic Life Support (BLS) Workshop is a three hour long workshop, which covers topics like:

1. Introduction to First – aid
2. Handling of Patients during medical Emergency
3. First aid during medical emergency such as bleeding, fracture, heart attack, stroke, seizure/convulsions, choking, burns, drowning, etc.
4. During Basic Life Support course, the employees will be enlightened on how to react and act in case of a cardiac arrest. They will be given hands on training in bandaging, splinting & CPR. The course is a hand on practical training where in the CPR technique is performed on a mannequin and each employee will be given a chance to perform it. They will be given booklets on the course on which they can refer for future reference.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. (Mrs.) Indu Sahani said, “With this initiative we Mumbaikars will have 200 more people on the mumbai roads to help during emergency (Pizza deliver boys).”

In any road accident or medical emergency, the first one hour i.e. Golden Hour is the most important to make a difference in saving the victims life. In India more than 30% victims die because of timely medical attention. The first responder is the person who can help in saving the life of the victim, he is also the person close to the victim during the emergency, Domino’s Pizza employees the delivery experts will prove helpful on roads/streets of Mumbai during emergency.
